Google calendar world clock and timezone

Given that we just went back to GMT, here are a couple of neat things in Google calendar to help with timezones:

  • Calendar Settings > Labs > World Clock
  • Calendar Settings > General > Your current timezone > Enable additional timezone

The first displays a "widget" at the bottom right, in which you can select several timezones. When you click on an event, you can see what the start time of that event is in all of our selected timezones.

The second allows you to enable a second timezone that displays in the main calendar. You'll get another "vertical strip" with the time of day (in the selected timezone) to the left of the usual "vertical strip" with the time of day (in your usual timezone).

If you've got a lot of collaborations with people in different timezones, both of these are very handy!
